From the # 1 New York Times and International bestselling author, Jennifer L. Armentrout writing as J.Lynn, comes a richly moving story about heartbreak and guilt, second chances and hope. Full of familiar, fan-favorite characters and no two people more deserving of a happy ending, Fire In You will burn bright beyond the last page…
Jillian Lima’s whole world was destroyed in a span of a few hours. The same night her childhood love, Brock ‘the Beast’ Mitchell, broke her heart, her life was irrevocably altered by the hand of a stranger with a gun. It takes six years to slowly glue together the shattered pieces of her life, but Jillian is finally ready to stop existing in a past full of pain and regret. She takes a job at her father’s martial arts Academy and she’s going out on her first date since a failed relationship that was more yuck than yum. Jillian is determined to start living.
She just never expected Brock to be a part of her life again. But he’s firmly back in her life before she knows it, and not only is he older, he’s impossibly more handsome, more teasing and more everything. And when he sees Jillian, he’s no longer capable of thinking of her as the little girl who was his shadow growing up or the daughter of the man who gave him a second chance at life. He sees the woman who’d always been there for him, the one person who believed in him no matter what.
Brock knows she’s the one he should’ve made his, and what begins as a tentative friendship quickly turns to red-hot chemistry that sparks a flame that burns brighter than lust. Falling for Brock again risks more than her heart, because when the past sorrow-filled and guilt-ridden past resurfaces, and a web of lies threatens to rip them apart, the fallout could lay waste to everything they’ve fought to build together, and destroy the dreams of those they care most about.

BETWEEN THE COVERS!

*"This book is part of the new adult contemporary romance genre! It is more mature than both YA and MG. I have featured it in Between the Covers as a way to feature the few Adult and New Adult titles I am beginning to read!"  This book will contain strong language and explicit sexual scenes. Intended for adults 18 and up!

*MY THOUGHTS*

This has to be the best book in the series. And it's unfortunate because it's the last one. I fell so hard for both Brock and Jill and that made it so much harder to say good-bye to this series. I remember reading the very first one, and now that I've read the last I want to read them all over again.
"I lied because sometimes lying was like surviving.'"
pg. 6
Brock and Jill have known each other their whole lives. They've kept no secrets... Well except one huge one that Jill vows to tell Brock one day. But the night she decides to tell him, her entire world implodes. They don't speak for years until Brock shows up out of nowhere and turns Jill's entire world upside down.
"I was extremely skilled at taking a simple statement and creating an entire paragraph of unspoken words out of it.'"
pg. 129
The reason I liked this one so much more than some of the others in the series was the pacing. In the beginning of this series the couples were the result of insta-love and as the story went on there was a bit of a slow-burn, but then there was hardly any time that we saw the couple together. This book was the perfect blend of the two. I loved the way they got together and I loved the way they made it work. It was so much more believable and so refreshing to have that perfct blend.
"Living is all about taking risks.'"
pg. 238
As far as the characters, I LOVED Brock for some reason lol He was a huge pain in the ass because of his smart mouth, but he was also hilarious and I couldn't help laughing at him. It was so weird because in the past books I wasn't a fan of him because he was so cocky. It was great to see that he had changed in this book. As far as Jill, I really liked her. This book served as a coming of age novel for her and it was so interesting to see herself come into her own person. Although Brock helped her confidence grow, she did all the big obstacles on her own and because of that I was proud of her.
"First the doughnuts and now the whole beautiful smile thing? Are you trying to get laid [...] Is it working?'"
pg. 330
There was really only one thing I didn't like.,. And that was the plot. Just like with the other books in this series it was a little predictable. I couldn't really fall for it when I knew what was about to happen. It took some of the shock value away, but it was still worth it. I still really enjoyed it and would still read it all over again,
"Scars, whether physical or emotional, could be not just a representation of survival but also a story of hope.'"
pg. 330
This series will definitely be a hard one to say good bye to, but I can only imagine that this must mean that JLA will give us another book boy series that for me to love.
Overall, I give this
Real rating 4.5
